My Fav Picks : Chesterfield Sofa

A Chesterfield Sofa : Even if you didn't know what it was called, I am pretty sure you would have seen it before ... and in all probability loved it too. What' s not to luv about it : all that tufting , the classic shape , the high rounded arms...so comfy yet so stylish !

The term Chesterfield for this sofa is believed to be coined in 1900 after the Earl of Chesterfield. Today it is used as a generic term for any seat that  can accomodate more than 2 people & that have the distinctive high rounded arms & tufted upholstery. These classic furniture pieces are trending now. The best part about A Chesterfiled Sofa is that it complements all types of design styles & decors.

You can see these sofas being reinterpreted in many different ways { especially by varying the colors & materials of the upholstery } and are being used almost everywhere...homes, offices, lounges and libraries. Sharing with you some of my favorite spaces styled with A Chesterfield :

A style statement in this modern space !

The Union Jack ... Really !

A natural fit in a Boho-Chic space !

Yes..it a great peice to use for the mod-country style too !

Fits in perfectly in an eclectic design style !

In a classic white ... the perfect stand-out piece !

An excellent choice of Chesterfield to add sophistication to the room !

Upholstered in Linen...complementing the rustic styling in the space.

This weathered chesterfield lends so much character to this office.

My favorite is the one upholstered in a Classic White { at the very top } . Which one would fit in your decor ? Bring in drama, elegance & style with a timeless Chesterfield.

Happy Styling !

  1. As experts and manufacturers of British Chesterfield sofas for over 30 years, we know how to craft the perfect Chesterfield sofa and we always suggest reading our guide before purchasing your sofa whether it be from us or somebody else.

What can look like a beautiful piece on initial viewing can prove otherwise if you have a closer look at how the sofa is put together.

  3. This is a great product for those times when you occasionally need an extra bed; but, don't really want one set up the rest of the time. It is quick and easy to both set up and take down.

Although the first time we set it up, it was losing air; it turned out to be just a minor and easily fixed issue. In the plug area where you inflate it, there was a few pieces of loose plastic (from where the mold was originally cut); that was keeping the plug from sealing completely. Once the loose pieces were removed, we had no problems with it at all. Over the holidays we had family visiting and were in need of needing an extra bed; hence, the reason we made this purchase in the first place. Our guest loved it so much; we actually bought a second one for him for a graduation/christmas gift to take back to his college dorm. I heard it has been a big hit there as well.

  9. Thank you so much for your great post and pictures are really very awesome. In homes, couches are normally found in the family room, living room, den, sitting room or the lounge. They are also found in hotels, lobbies of commercial offices, waiting rooms, furniture stores, etc. The most common types of couches are the loveseat, designed for seating two persons, and the sofa, with two or more cushion seats. Great post.

  11. We are Chesterfield Lounge, manufacturers of chesterfield furniture.

Thank you for selecting 2 of our chesterfield sofa models in your well written blog, showing creative roomset design ideas, which we love! However we do not like the scare tactics of the above comment from someone called Timeless Chesterfields, claiming they are British experts in manufacturing. If this is the case, then they will recognise the high quality British manufacturing of our chesterfield sofas, all hand made in England, using the best selection of leathers and materials.

Anyway, back to the positive!...our 2 models you selected are:
    The Shakespeare - http://www.chesterfieldlounge.co.uk/products-page/sofas/shakespeare-chesterfield-sofa/
    The Hawking - http://www.chesterfieldlounge.co.uk/products-page/sofas/hawking/

If you click on the above links you can read the specification of each model. You can view our full range of chesterfield sofas and chair at www.chesterfieldlounge.co.uk which we can delivery to any country worldwide.

We can also made bespoke orders, tailor made to the customers personal measurements to fit the ideal space.

By the way, on our website you can see the British Prime Minister David Cameron and Hollywood Actor Hugh Grant recently photographed on the sofa we made, so hopefully the quality was satisfactory for them!

To show our appreciation, if any customer wishes to purchase chesterfield furniture from us and they refer to this blog, we will happily give a 10% discount.

    Contact us at sales@chesterfieldlounge.co.uk

    Thank you
    Timothy

P.S. We encourage all British manufacturing, and we wish British manufactureres in all industries (not just furniture) the best of success.

  12. Amazing designs!! As a interior designer, I have an eye for good furniture pieces and I believe a chesterfield sofa can add style and grace to any room if it is of the right size and color. Since people find chesterfield sofas to be pretty expensive, I recommend them to visit http://ahernsfurniture.co.uk/ for used chesterfield sofas.
